SEUNG-GI-JUNG

South Korean baritone Seung-Gi Jung was a prize winner in several international competitions including the International Singing Competition in Toulouse 2008 (first prize),  International Singing Competition Ernst Haefliger in Bern 2008 (first prize), International Singing Competition Luciano Pavarotti 2008 in Modena (second prize) and the latest in 2009 the International Queen Sonja Competition in Oslo (1st prize).

 

In Korea Seung-Gi made his operatic debut,  singing Figaro in Le nozze di  Figaro and Germont in La Traviata. In 2006/2007 he was engaged as Le chat in Ravel’s L'Enfant et les Sortileges as well as Golaud in Pelleas et Melisande in Karlsruhe. His recent engagemnts include Renato  in Un ballo in Maschero" at the theatre in Bern, Switzerland, Yeletsky in in Konzerthaus in Karlsruhe and Tonio in I Pagliacci at the Menuhin Festival Gstaad alongside with Noemi Nadelmann and  Giuseppe Gacomini.

 

Seung-Gi is currently engaged as a member of the ensemble at the Augsburg theatre in Germany, where his roles include Ping in Turandot, Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor and Marchese di Posa in Don Carlos. In this season he is invited to sing Marcello in La Bohème in Theatre du Capitole in Toulouse and Teatro La Fenice in Venice.
