his operatic breakthrough came with his performance in the role of Hoffmann at the Salle Gaveau in Paris in 1993 and ever since he has been appearing in that role at many major opera houses in France and abroad. In Italy he made his debut as Pinkerton at La Fenice in Venice and in the title role in Faust at La Scala, Milan. His recent performances in France include Cavaradossi in Nice, Faust in Dijon as well as Samson and Pollione in St. Etienne and Luigi in Il tabarro at the Lyon Opera. His German engagements have taken him lately to the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Leipzig Opera and the Hamburg State Opera. He also recently sang Le Cid by Massenet at the Zurich Opera, Don José at the Graz and at the Savonlinna Opera Festival and Don Carlos at the Hamburg State Opera and at the Flanders Opera in Antwerp. His future engagements include among others Cavaradossi in Copenhagen, Samson in Karlsruhe and his most popular role Hoffmann at the Malmö Opera in Sweden.
