Biography

Russian mezzo-soprano Anna Buslidze made her stage debut as Mercedes in Carmen at the Tatar State Opera in 2014. She graduated from the Perm Art and Culture Academy in 2015. During her studies she sang the role of Lyubasha in Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Tsar’s Bride. Soon after, she was a young artist at the Crescendo Summer Institute in Tokaj, Hungary, where she studied under Stephen Morschek and performed Third Lady in Die Zauberflöte. In 2015 she undertook an internship at the Norwegian National Opera in Oslo.

2014–2015 Anna Buslidze was a soloist at the Samara Opera and Ballet Theatre, where she sang the roles of Olga in Eugene Onegin, Polina in the Queen of Spades, Weaver in Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Tale of Tsar Saltan, Dunyasha in The Tsar’s Bride as well as Lel’ and Spring in Snow Maiden. 2015-2016 she performed Santuzza in Cavalleria rusticana, Varvara in R.Shchedrin’s Not Only Love, Flora in La Traviata, Maddalena in Rigoletto, Ulyana Gromova in Meitus’ opera The Young Guard with the St.Petersburg Chamber Opera. After that she joined the ensemble of the Mikhailovsky Theatre St.Petersburg, where her current repertoire includes Polina in The Queen of Spades, Laura in Iolanta, Varvara and Glasha in Katya Kabanova, Madrigal singer in Manon Lescaut, Anna in B.Asafiev’s opera Cinderella, Berta in Il Barbiere di Siviglia and 3rd Lady in Die Zauberflöte. Anna Buslidze has appeared regularly as a soloist with the Andreev State Russian Orchestra and has sung a.o. Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater and Tchaikovsky’s Moscow Cantata with the Perm Chamber Orchestra.
