Spanish baritone Sebastià Peris started to play percussion in an ensemble at the age of eight. Years later, while studying economy at the Universidad de Valencia, he discovered his voice and enrolled at the Conservatorio Superior de Música Joaquín Rodrigo under the tutelage of Prof. Patricia Llorens.
In 2013 he won 1st prize at Juventudes Musicales de España National Singing Competition. The same year he made his debut at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid, where he has sung various roles in La verbena de la Paloma (T. Bretón), Curro Vargas (R. Chapí), Lady be good (G. Gershwin), Maria Moliner (A. Parera Fons) a.o.
Sebastià Peris was an opera studio member at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein from 2016 to 2018. His roles in Düsseldorf/Duisburg included Perückenmacher/ Ariadne auf Naxos, Il Commissario/ Madama Butterfly, Papageno/ Zauberflöte für Kinder, Marullo/ Rigoletto, Hornkerl/ Wo die Wilde Kerle wohnen, Moralès/ Carmen, Silvano/ Un ballo in maschera. He is returning to the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in 2018/2019 as Hornkerl.
His recent engagements include Johann/ Werther at Wuppertaler Bühnen, Haly/ L'italiana in Algeri with Festival Quincena Musical in San Sebastián and Sam/ Trouble in Tahiti with the Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam. This season he is debuting with Opera Zuid as Sam/ A quiet place and as Diener/ Capriccio at Teatro Real in Madrid.
Sebastià Peris has also performed roles such as Figaro and Conte/ Le Nozze di Figaro, Papageno/ Die Zauberflöte, Marcello and Schaunard/ La Bohème, Moralès and Dancaïro/ Carmen, Peter/ Hänsel und Gretel and Junius/ The Rape of Lucretia.
His concert repertoire includes Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, Fauré's Requiem, Bach’s Johannes-Passion and Matthäus-Passion, Haydn’s Messa in tempore belli, Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle, Schubert's G Major Mass, Brahms’ Deutsches Requiem, Mahler’s Das klagende Lied and Händel's Messiah.
