Yury Rostotsky graduated from the Gnessins Academy of Music in 2014 where he studied with Prof. S. Gorenkova. In the summer of 2014, he polished his singing skills at the Oper Oder Spree Festival in Germany. and later on continued his training at the Accademia Rossiniana “Alberto Zedda” by Ernesto Palacio (Pesaro, Italy). He participated in workshops of prominent singers and teachers such as Galina Vishnevskaya, Valentina Levko, Vaza Chachava (Russia), Fabio Sartori (Italy), Deborah York (Great Britain), Darynn Zimmer (USA), Peter Maus, Robert Gambill, Snezana Nena Brzakovic, Johannes Von Duisburg, Semen Skigin (Germany), Juan Diego Florez (Peru).

A prizewinner of many national  and international singing competitions, among them the Kaludia Taev International Competition in Pärnu, Estonia (3rd prize 2015), he quickly made himself known as one of the most interesting young tenors of his generation and has become, in 2015, a member of the soloist ensemble of the Novaya Opera Theatre in Moscow.

In 2016, Yury performed the part of Belfiore in Mozart’s La finta giardiniera in Berlin as well as the tenor parts in Schubert’s Messe in Es-dur in Nuremberg, Orff’s scenic cantata Carmina Burana and Handel’s oratorio Messiah in Moscow.

Yury has also been heard as Lensky (Eugene Onegin) in Copenhagen, Damon (Handel’s Acis and Galatea conducted by Peter Neumann (Germany) in Moscow), Young Gipsy (Rachmaninov’s Aleko) in Moscow. Yury Rostotsky's repertoire also includes the tenor parts in Mozart’s Requiem and Krönugsmesse, Haydn’s St. Nicholas Mass, Bach’s St. John Passion, Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde, Purcell's Ode on St.Cecilia's Day, Saint-Saëns’ Oratorio de Noël, Rachmaninov’s All-Night Vigil, and Stravinsky’s Pulcinella.

His most recent engagements include Brighella in Strauss's Ariadna auf Naxos under the baton of Vladimir Jurowski, Remendado in Sebastian Baumgarten's Carmen production as well as Liberto in Barrie Kosky's Incoronazione di Poppea, both at Komische Oper Berlin, and the tile role in Händel's Samson with the Russian National Orchestra in the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory.
