Latin Grammy-Nominee soprano Nathalie Peña-Comas was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Her operatic roles include Zerlina and Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, Lucia in the tango opera Mateo, Queen of trolls in The two Fiddlers, Gabi in Agleia Federweiss, Musetta in La Bohème, Contessa in Le nozze di Figaro, Micaëla in Carmen and Violetta in La Traviata.
Nathalie has performed at renowned festivals such as the Emilia Romagna Festival (Italy), Wiener Festwochen, Vienna Opera Summer and Sommerfestival Kittsee (Austria) and IMAGO Sloveniae International Festival. Notable venues include the Musikverein and Konzerthaus in Vienna, Accademia di Santa Cecilia (Rome), Basilica Papale Santa Maria Maggiore (Vatican City), Tchaikovsky Conservatory (Moscow), Gran Teatro Nacional (Peru) and Eduardo Brito National Theater (Dominican Republic). Her concerts have been live streamed on Rai 3 (Italy), the Belarusian Broadcasting Company, the Slovenian National Radio, and the Dominican National Television and Radio Company.
She has sung with orchestras such as the Russian State Philharmonic Orchestra, Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Vienna Concert-Verein Orchestra, Strauss Festival Orchestra, the Belarusian Radio Symphony Orchestra and National Symphony Orchestras of Peru and the Dominican Republic. She has shared the stage, a. o with Gregory Kunde, Ramon Vargas, Andrea Bocelli and Stephen Costello. With Ensemble Spirituosi, she has toured in Austria, England, Italy, Spain, and the Dominican Republic. Their album Souvenir Latino won three gold medals at the Global Music Awards and was featured on BBC 3 Radio. Spirituosi was also awarded the Soberano Prize for “Best Classical Concert of 2015.”
Nathalie Pen?a-Comas won 1st Prize at the Ebe Stignani International Opera Competion (2022), 2nd Prize at the Montecatini Opera Festival Competition (2022), and multiple “Classical Singer of the Year” awards at the Soberano Awards (2014-2022). She studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Helena Lazarska and Annamaria Rott and Manfred Wagner-Artzt. Since 2018, she has worked with Austro- Romanian Maestra Irina Gavrilovici.
Since 2019, she serves as Cultural Ambassador of the Dominican Republic.
