Italo-Ecuadorian tenor David Esteban sang his first Cavaradossi Tosca with Schleswig-Holsteinisches Landestheater this season and performs Carlo Giovanna D’Arco with the Estonian National Opera in Tallinn. He will make his role debut as Pinkerton Madama Butterfly with Theatre Vanemuine in Estonia.
As a member of the ensemble at Theater Krefeld Mönchengladbach from 2018 until 2022 his repertoire included Don José Carmen, Ismaele Nabucco, Duca Rigoletto, Prince Rusalka, Orpheus Orpheus in der Unterwelt, Chevalier de la Force Dialogues des Carmélites, Laertes Hamlet, Simpleton Boris Godunov, Narraboth Salome, Tamino Die Zauberflöte, Tenor Meisterklasse and Kasimir Babylas Salon Pitzelberger.
As a guest he has appeared as Don José Carmen at Vanemuine Theatre in Estonia, with Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg, at Auditorio de Zaragoza and the Tirana National Theatre. His role debut as Rodolfo La Bohème took place at Stadthalle Balingen. In 2019 he performed Tamino Die Zauberflöte in Busan as well as Alfredo La Traviata and Edgardo Lucia di Lammermoor at the Ulsan Arts Centre in South Korea.
In concert David Esteban has sung Bruckner’s Te Deum at Liederhalle Stuttgart, Verdi's Requiem in Stuttgart as well as Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle in Stuttgart, Bergamo and Pavia. He has participated in several opera galas in Krefeld and Mönchengladbach.
David Esteban received his Bachelor’s degree from the Conservatory in Naples, Italy, and was a member of the Centro de Perfeccionamento Placido Domingo in Valencia in 2014/2015. He sang Flavio Norma and Abdallo Nabucco at the Palau de les Arts in Valencia. Subsequently he obtained Master’s degrees from the Conservatory of Valencia and from the Opernschule Stuttgart, Germany. In a student production he sang his first Duca Rigoletto at Wilhelma Theater.
