Italo-Ecuadorian tenor David Esteban joined the ensemble of Theater Krefeld-Mönchengladbach in the autumn 2018. His repertoire has included Chevalier de la Force/ Les dialogues des Carmélites, Duca/ Rigoletto, Prince/ Rusalka, Tamino/ Die Zauberflöte, Orpheus/ Orpheus in der Unterwelt, Laertes/ Hamlet, Simpleton/ Boris Godunov, Ismaele/ Nabucco and Narraboth/ Salome. His first role in the 2020/2021 season is Don José/ Carmen.
David Esteban sang Flavio/ Norma and Abdallo/ Nabucco as a member of the opera studio at the Palau de les Arts in Valencia. During his studies in Stuttgart he appeared as Duca/ Rigoletto at the Wilhelma Theater. He performed Don José/ Carmen with Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg, in the Auditorio de Zaragoza and at the Tirana National Theatre. He made his role debut as Rodolfo/ La Bohème in Stadthalle Balingen. In 2019 he performed Tamino/ Die Zauberflöte in Busan as well as Alfredo/ La Traviata and Edgardo/ Lucia di Lammermoor at the Ulsan Arts Centre in South Korea.
In concert David Esteban has sung Bruckner’s Te Deum at Liederhalle Stuttgart, Verdi's Requiem in Stuttgart as well as Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle in Stuttgart, Bergamo and Pavia. This season he is appearing in zarzuela and opera gala concerts in Krefeld and Mönchengladbach.
David Esteban received his Bachelor’s degree at the Conservatory in Naples, Italy, and was a member of the Centro de Perfeccionamento Placido Domingo in Valencia in 2014/2015. He has obtained a Master’s degree from the Conservatory of Valencia and from the Opernschule Stuttgart, Germany.
