Artistic consultant, concert division

Having completed all singing degrees at the Musikhochschule Detmold/Dortmund, she started her solo career and sang for over 20 years at several major German opera houses including Lübeck, Dortmund, Düsseldorf and Mannheim. There, and as a regular guest at international festivals in Vienna, Lissabon and Seattle, she sang all important roles of the lyric and later on of the dramatic mezzo-soprano repertoire, including Oktavian, Dalila, Klytämnestra, Ortrud and Amneris.

As an oratorio soloist she was invited also to Spain, France and Belgium, where she performed Beethovens 9th, Händel´s Messiah and several requiems. Countless lieder recitals and chamber music concerts have taken her to concert halls all over Germany as well as to the German public radio stations SFB and NDR.

Besides singing in over a thousand performances, she gave singing lessons at several institutions before she became professor of singing at the university-Musikhochschule Freiburg in 2003 where she served for 16 years.

Since 2018 she is a board member of the Bundesverband Deutscher Gesangspädagogen BDG, supporting voice teachers in Germany.

In 2020 she joined Opera-Connection as artistic consultant for their concert division.
