Baritone
After his vocal training with Jorge Sirena and his musical education at the music school of Navàs, his hometown, baritone Carles Pachon has been awarded numerous prizes, including at the Neue Stimmen competition (2022) and the Tenor Viñas Competition (2017). In 2022, he received the Ópera XXI award from the Spanish opera association as Best Young Performer of the Year for his portrayal of Papageno in The Magic Flute in a production by the Ópera de Oviedo. In 2018, he performed at the Accademia Rossiniana Alberto Zedda in Pesaro and was a member of the opera studio at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden from 2021 to 2023. Since the 2024/25 season, he has been a permanent member of the ensemble at this house.
His artistic career has taken him to stages such as the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, the Teatro Real in Madrid, the Teatro Rossini in Pesaro, the Zurich Opera House, the Festspielhaus in Baden-Baden, and the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires. His repertoire ranges from comic roles like Papageno, Dottore Malatesta (Don Pasquale), Dandini (La Cenerentola), Guglielmo (Così fan tutte), and Schaunard (La Bohème), to more dramatic roles within his vocal range, such as Enrico Ashton (Lucia di Lammermoor), Sharpless (Madama Butterfly), the title role in Don Giovanni, and Count Almaviva (The Marriage of Figaro), among many others.
