Cynthia Makris has 30 years of experience performing major operatic roles in top opera houses worldwide. Her extensive repertoire ranges from bel canto to dramatic, from Bellini and Donizetti to Mozart, Puccini, Verdi, Richard Strauss, and Wagner. Her career brought her to the stages of the world, including La Scala, Covent Garden, and the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires. She has lived and performed in nearly every European country, as well as in Japan, Singapore, China, Australia, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, and Argentina, and in the U.S.

Cynthia has been praised not only for the beauty of her voice but also for the integrity, honesty, and emotional depth she brings to her portrayals.  She progressed from Violetta, Lucia and Anna Bolena to Donna Anna, Die Frau one Schatten, Lady Macbeth and Turandot. Salome is her most-performed role, sung over 300 times around the world.

With her knowledge of technique, style and language, she has been coaching singers since 2007.  She understands the need to stand out in the competitive world of opera and of course the importance of making the right role choices at the right time.
