Tenor / >emerging artist<
As one of the most promising young German tenors of his generation, Lars Tappert has quickly established himself as a sensitive and versatile interpreter in concert, opera, and art song. With a special affinity for the works of the Baroque and Viennese Classical periods, he brings depth and expressiveness to his performances.
Nationally and internationally, he is already in high demand as a concert singer, having worked under renowned conductors such as Hans-Christoph Rademann, Jörg Halubek, and Johanna Soller. His debut at the Kissinger Sommer festival and the Bachwoche Greifswald in 2024 marked a significant milestone in his career. As Evangelist in Bach’s Passions, as well as in the oratorios and sacred works of Haydn, Mozart, and their contemporaries, he has already impressed both audiences and critics alike.
Lars Tappert is also making a name for himself on the opera stage: in the spring of 2025, he takes on the role of Don Ottavio in Mozart’s Don Giovanni at Theater Heilbronn. Additionally, he will appear as Belmonte in Mozart’s Die Entführung aus dem Serail in the upcoming season 25/26 at Theater Neustrelitz. Previously, he has performed this role in a production by Kammeroper München, and he was also seen as Orpheus in Jacques Offenbach’s operetta Orpheus in der Unterwelt.
With great dedication, he also devotes himself to the art song. In the SWR song-play Rose, die Müllerin, as well as in regular song recitals, he interprets not only well-known cycles by Schubert and Schumann but also presents his own programs.
Recognized as an exceptional talent, Lars Tappert has been awarded the International Bach Prize of the Bachwoche Greifswald and the Sponsorship Award of the City of Coburg. He studied voice with Prof. Iride Martinez and Prof. Marcelo Amaral in Nuremberg and completed a master's degree in opera with Prof. Teru Yoshihara at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts (HMDK Stuttgart). He has also received significant artistic inspiration in masterclasses with KS Brigitte Fassbaender, Prof. Christoph Prégardien, Prof. Christoph Strehl, Prof. Scot Weir, and Elisabetta Lombardi.
With his remarkable musicality, technical finesse, and deep interpretative insight, Lars Tappert is a rising star in the opera world and an exciting voice to watch in the coming years.
