French lyric tenor Raphaël Jardin recently performed the role of Paris in Offenbach’s La belle Hélène in a co-production by L'Opéra de Massy, Opéra de Clermont-Ferrand and Opéra Éclaté in France. At the Festival l’Opéral Déconfiné in Nice he sang Conte Almaviva in Il Barbiere di Siviglia and in summer 2026 he appeared in the Bregenz Festival’s production of Verdi’s La traviata.
Raphaël Jardin initially studied viola at the Conservatoire National de Musique de Paris, where he received his Master's degree in 2016. During his viola studies, he began studying voice with Malcolm Walker and Alain Lyet, obtaining his Diplôme d'Etudes Musicales in 2018.
Raphaël Jardin is performing frequently at Opéra de Nice, where his roles included among others Arturo in Lucia di Lammermoor, In 2022, Raphael made his role debut as Hoffmann in Les contes d'Hoffmann touring with Opera Nancy Passion and Les Voix d’Outre-mer in France and on La Réunion. In the 2023-2024 season, he sang Gérald in Lakmé on a tour throughout France and made his house debut in 2023 at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo as La Théière/ la Rainette/ le Petit Vieillard/ l'Arithmétique in Ravel’s l'Enfant et les sortilèges.
Following his studies, Raphaël Jardin performed his first opera roles with Opéra de Tours, including Snout in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Almeric in Iolanta, Brother in Kurt Weill’s Die Sieben Todsünden and L'Incroyable in Andréa Chénier. He also attended the Berlin Opera Academy as Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus. In 2019, he sang the title role in Mozart’s Idomeneo and in 2022 Alfredo in La Traviata with L‘Orchestre et Chœur Note et Bien. In 2020, he performed the role of Fritz in Gounod's La Nonne sanglante with Opéra de Saint-Étienne, revived in 2023. He participated in the production Les Paris Frivoles with Les Frivolités Parisiennes at the Orangerie in Paris. In 2022, he was on tour in France singing the role of Fernand in La Favorite with the programme "Voix en développement".
